Learning the Social Sciences

I created this project for my YouTube Symposium. My school does a 6 day, all day course three times a year and I have the students for one of them create 5 videos that could possibly make money on YouTube due to the genre. I use WeVideo for the creation of the video as there is a free version (I now have a paid subscription) and works on chrome books.

Students create a nature and music video, an instructional video, a product review, a kid video, and a final video where they pick the category (from the list on YouTube). I have a PowerPoint for each genre with plenty of examples and a sheet for the students to even grade the videos. I have a project description sheet and a grading sheet as well. Additionally, I created a reading on COPPA laws as it pertains to YouTube. There are also videos included to teach how to use WeVideo and how to address copyrights.

Students LOVE this project/unit as they can see how they could actually use the information to make simple videos that could generate money.

This project is GREAT for distance learning and online learning if your students have access to the Internet!
