Product Description
This creative essay provides a brief discussion of the theme that
all men have an inherent corruptibility and
that choices are the catalysts that reveal their capacity for evil.

After reading and discussing “Young Goodman Brown,” students are required to brainstorm situations where they would be compelled to make a personal choice whether to take part in a sketchy activity with some sketchy people.

They evaluate the conflict that the choice presents, the allure of the activity and people, and the repercussions of their decision.

Students then write a personal narrative.

They are directed to create mood, conflict, and an antagonist.

They are also instructed to discuss the consequence of their actions.

Suggestions for activities include

---cheating on a test,
---shoplifting, and
---cyber bullying.

A scoring rubric is included (25 points content/25 points mechanics).
