Everyone has played the Jumbling/Tumbling Tower game. Here is a great way to introduce Positive Character Education in your classroom.
Pick a block and place it on the top, go in a clockwise motion (to your left) and say something nice or positive about the person on your left. Once you’ve said something nice or positive about that person on your left, then it’s their turn. Continue around the circle, until it ends with the person who leading the group. If a student happens knocks down the tower, redo the tower in the proper way and the person who knocked it down gets to start, because they need their chance to participate. The round over, once it reaches the leader. You can continue on to several rounds by having starting each round with a different topic: say something positive about themselves, give a positive manner, give a negative manner, ask questions, etc....the possibilities are endless.
There is a worksheet in this packet and the instructions/directions are on the second page. This is a great activity to lift your students spirits, emotional self worth, and self-esteem. Once you’re done with this activity, have your students put this paper in a special place and when their feeling down and out, they can look at this to give them a boost in their self-esteem and feelings about themselves.
