This resource has be created as an activity to practice short vowel sounds you have previously taught. It is the same material as what’s taught in the Yummy Vowels Flipchart lesson. It is a great game for the children to use in your reading/phonics center.
What’s included in this resource:
Printable game sheets of five ice cream stands - one for each vowel.
Printable game pieces (ice cream scoops), 10 for each vowel. (50 total)
10 blank ice cream tops to add your own pictures if desired.
How to use this resource:
Print out the game sheets, preferably on cardstock. Cut out and laminate the ice cream stands. Write the correct vowel on the back of each games piece. Laminate all pieces, if desired, for endurance. Place in a large baggie or container.
How to play:
Children name the vowel sound on each game piece and place it on one of the cones on the correct sheet. When finished, the children can flip the game piece over to see if they were correct.
