Product Description
Kids just love card games and this one is no exception!!! Students pick a card, practice saying target words and collect as many cards as they can to win the game!!! They just don’t want to get “ZAPPED” by picking a “ZAP” card otherwise they lose all their cards and have to start over again. What a great way to encourage articulation drills. This product was made with the non-reader in mind. It is great for group therapy, even when the students have different target sounds. Its very simple and easy to make , just print, laminate and cut out cards and you are ready to go.
PREPARATION:
Print out target sound flashcards and “ZAP” flashcards on cardstock and laminate for durability. Cut apart flashcards and you are ready to go. You can use 45 to all target sound flashcards when playing this game.
DIRECTIONS FOR PLAY:
This game can be played with 2 to 6 players. If only one student is in the group the therapist can play as one of the players. Lay all flashcards face down in a pile in middle of the group. Player one chooses a flashcard from the top of the pile and then says the pictured word correctly or uses it in a sentence , if appropriate, to keep it. If a "ZAP” card is drawn the student returns ALL their cards to the bottom of the pile. Play continues as long as time allows. The winner is the student with the most cards at the end of time. If working with students who have different target sounds, each student can play with their own deck and the winner is still the student with the most cards at the end of the allotted time.
