Product Description
This packet is an early emergent reading/writing book (12 full sized pages) with several other pages for word wall words and follow-up activities!

The full size page format makes it a very useful class book as well as an individual book. It's a great reader for kids to keep and take home to practice reading and writing.

MORE THAN JUST A READER
Your young readers will READ, WRITE, and DRAW in this cute jungle animal book!

The predictable text invites readers to see what animal is on the next page. Predictable text and the jungle animals theme make this a fun book for your beginning readers. In addition to reading, kids get to write and draw in this book, too! Nouns and verbs are listed for previewing, as well as word cards of the words found in the book.

The text structure is similar to the format in Eric Carle's popular books, which makes it a great follow up to an author study on Eric Carle.

Close reading for words and comprehension is reinforced with the vocabulary word cards and habitat sheets.

Versatile for Differentiation
Use the book in small groups, whole class, or as independent work.
The vocabulary word cards are great for a literacy center, and can be used for a word wall, or bulletin board to help preview words and/ or write their own little book of words!

Kids love the question, "Who do you see?" Then the next page reads, "I see a ___ looking at me."

This resource includes the following:
*12 full pages (8x11) including 1 black/white cover, and 1 colored cover
There's lots of space for drawing and for tracing animal names.
*Total word count for reading/writing: 78 words

*Binding ideas: staple, or hole-punch and use rings, loop with chenille fuzzy sticks (also called pipe cleaners), or tie with ribbon.

*A fun alternative is to use animal print duct tape, which you can get in zebra stripes --adding a more jungle flair. This looks terrific!

*Aligns with the Common Core Standards for K-1. Appropriate for many Pre-K students who are emergent readers.

This is a revision and has more cards added to it. Please redownload if you have already purchased this.
