This activity asks students to look more closely at the craft of the writer. Students will look and notice the strategies used by the author like comparisons and specific nouns. These descriptions are provided on the worksheets. They will then use those same strategies to write their own descriptive sentences about topics of their choice. There are two worksheets. One is for chapters 1-3 and one is for setting descriptions in chapter 23. This is a great way to get students to read like writers as well as look more closely at their reading.
