Zentangle pyramid project combines drawing and sculpture into one project. This lesson focuses on the elements of line, pattern, contrast, and emphasis. Each student will create a 3-dimensional zentangle pyramid sculpture that uses abstract zentangle patterns. This project is also a great way to talk about geometry and the Egyptian pyramids.
Drawing zentangles is a relaxing, fun, and easy-to-learn art form that all ages can learn. Zen is defined as a Japanese school of Mahayana Buddhism emphasizing the value of meditation and intuition. Creating zentangles is often seen as a form of meditation because it relaxes and focuses the artist. Traditional zentangle designs are usually done on small, white squares of paper and are usually created using black ink. Zentangles use a variety of simple and complex patterns and are almost always abstract.
