Product Description

Great intuitive activity. Students determine the equation of a polynomial function from a graph guided by notes and examples.

This activity is designed for PreCalculus. Students determine the minimum degreed polynomial in factored form from a graph. The problems includes repeated roots and also finding the leading coefficient given certain conditions. Great for visual learners.

Included in this lesson:

# 1 - 8 depict graphs with both single, and repeated roots and with a leading coefficient of 1 or -1.

# 9 – 16 are similar to 1 – 8, but also include a point through which the graph passes. Students also determine the leading coefficient, a, of a polynomial of minimum degree represented by the graphs.

• Student response sheets
• Student Guided Notes - Notes include discussion on degree of a polynomial, effect of odd and even power, multiplicity, leading coefficients and examples.
