Pg. 3-8 High-Frequency Word practice – roll the dice to see how many times to write them, illustrate them and use them in a sentence – students can dictate if needed
Pg. 9 Roll and Write! – practice writing the capital and lowercase letter Oo – roll the dice to see how many times to write it on each line
Pg. 10-12 “o” is for Octopus! - Copy the patterns onto the appropriate colored construction paper – cut out the o, add the eyes to the bottom of the o, add eight streamers to the back and bottom of the o using wet glue
Pg. 13-15 Feed the Octopus! – color the octopus- glue him to a lunch bag – glue the name and label box to the bag – cut out the octopus’ mouth – cut out the picture cards – say the words but only feed the octopus the pictures that have a /o/ in them
Pg. 116-18 Let’s Make a Sentence! – the students can read so many words now – let them manipulate them to make different sentences – cut out the words – they can be laminated to be kept for future use or sent home as is with student to use at home – have the students record the sentences they created – can be used throughout the week if you want them to write one sentence a day
Pg. 19-20 A Pronoun Book of My Friends – a foldable book that has the students practice the relationship between people and pronouns

Pg. 22-24 Zin! Zin! Zin! Violin Details – copy pages A and B back to back to form a book – draw some of the instruments in the story and write a fun word from the story that goes with the instrument
Pg. 25-32 Friend Match – practice High-Frequency Words through the game of concentration – see game cover for directions – choose which words you would like the students to practice to keep the game smaller and more manageable
Pg. 33-35 My Favorite Instrument– a writing and drawing activity – draw your favorite instrument and write about it – two choices of writing paper depending on students writing ability level
Pg. 36-38-Lists! – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – create lists for a picnic, the beach, and the store
