Zinjabeel and her grandma are poor. They sell dates to make a living. It’s Ramadan a time of prayer and generosity. On the eve of Layla-tul-Qadr there is a knock at the door. A needy little girl ask for some dates. This is a story about a child who puts the needs of others before her own.
This is a story that is suitable for all grade levels. It can be used with lower grades as a holiday story. Older grades can benefit by enhancing their skills in creativity, storytelling, and collaboration by presenting the story to younger audiences followed by leading a make-an-take activity session.
