In this monster themed problem solving craftivity students must use their knowledge of multiples and factors as well as logic and critical thinking skills.
The mad scientist Zorg created 2 sorts of monsters. He created Zios with 3 legs and the Zepts with 7 legs. When his family of monsters was complete, Zorg had created 52 legs. How many Zios did he create? How many Zepts did he create?
After students figure out how many Zios and Zepts the mad scientist created, they will complete a craftivity of his monster family by coloring or cutting out construction paper monsters and adding the appropriate numbers of legs. Students are also asked to write an equation to justify their answer.
