This Zip-Around is an engaging card game to teach family vocabulary. Students play in groups of 3 - 4. The goal of the game is to put cards in order linking the term on one card to the term on the next (step-by-step directions for how to play the game are included). Once the cards are in order, students turn them over to reveal the secret message spelled out on the back of the cards. The first group to find the secret message, wins! Also included is a Power Point which can be used to help students check their work. The Power Point can also be used for Around-the-World game. With this game, two students at the front of the class stand up and compete to say the missing term first, the one who says it first advances, the other sits down. The goal is to get as far around the room as possible. Please note: the 18 cards are printed on 3 pages (6 cards per page); these need to be copied and cut out to make multiple sets of the cards. Cardstock is preferable, but regular paper works too.
