Learning about geography can be tedious at times. Using Zombies, however, can make learning fun and give students a greater purpose to study various geographic features and practice geographic skills.
This project includes every document you need to teach and assess students geographic skills in the form of a country report. Students will select a region of the world they are interested in, research three countries within that region, and select one country in which to settle based on its ability to support their survival in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse.
Students will use critical thinking skills to decide and justify their decision. This research project can be completed using entirely online applications, or can be a hybrid where students use some computer features and some printed materials.
I have used this project several times in my own class and each time I have, students have shown deep understanding of push and pull factors and the themes of movement and place in Geography.
This activity can also be adapted to google classroom. If you would like access to the google docs versions of the worksheets, contact me.
