This was originally made for a science class that I was helping out in. It involves the students doing research in teams so before hand they should know different ways to cite sources and what evidence will look like. Your kids may need an example of what a good claim is in a debate if they have never done one before, or are not familiar with using evidence in other courses. The instructor would be a guide in this activity. You would go around, check on their work, answer questions, and inspire creativity in their responses. First split the class in two. Then I would suggest having groups of 4 work on the prompt and then bringing the groups together. A four person team should be able to cover each part of the debate, the introduction/argument, the questions and answers section, the rebuttal, and the closing comments. Then when the teams go back to their bigger teams each introduction student can work together to finalize their statements and so forth.
