Zoo Animals Project
This project can be used in 2 different ways. It has a book cover (My book about Animals). Have your students color and write about each animal. Or, the 5 different zoo animals can be used as needed.
Here are some things you could share about each of these animals:
Giraffes are the world's tallest animal, some growing to almost 20 feet tall! Like their distant relatives, the camel, they drink and store water. They use their long necks to pick fruit from high places.
Elephants are the largest land animals in the world! They can live to be over 70 years old. His skin is 1 inch thick. His eyesight is poor, but his sense of smell is amazing!
The Hippo is the second largest land animal. To keep cool, they stay in the river. When the sun goes down, they eat. They live to be between 40 and 50 years old! They are herbivores.
The Lion is the second largest cat in the world. They are very social, living in prides of about 30 lions. They talk to each other by roaring. Their roars can be heard 5 miles away.
Every Zebra has a special pattern of black and white stripes. They have excellent eyesight and hearing. They stand when sleeping.
All templates are included. If you decide to put this into book form, be sure to bind it, staple it, or hole punch it and string together.
If you have students writing about one of the animals, it can be backed with 9 x 12 colored paper. Makes a great bulletin board!
Enjoy this project. Thanks, Angie Rebello
