Going to the zoo with your preschooler(s)? These “zoo cards” are a wonderful way to allow your little ones to participate and to remain engaged even more during their visit!
These Zoo Cards include a full-color and ink-saving black and white set.
20 different cards are included in each set and include the pictures and names of animals commonly found at a zoo along with a box for your preschooler(s) to mark when they see that animal.
Animals in each set:
-First, introduce the cards to your preschooler(s) the day before the visit. Discuss the animals they know and don’t know, which they have seen and haven’t seen, which are at your zoo and which aren’t, etc.
-The day of the visit, give your preschooler(s) their cards and a dry erase marker and instruct them to mark their cards when they see an animal. You may need to redirect them to their cards at times.
-After your trip, have your preschooler(s) use their cards to retell what they saw during their day at the zoo!
If planning a shorter trip to the zoo, allow your preschooler(s) to choose a certain number of cards to put on the ring. Twenty cards is a long day at the zoo for a three-year-old!
Like these cards but aren't able to make them yourself? Ask me a question here on TpT or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will set up a hard goods listing and mail them directly to you!
