This Zoo Field Trip Booklet is designed to give your student’s some focus while they are on their classroom field trip at the zoo. I have found that many of my students go to the zoo with their families often and having this Zoo Field Trip Booklet in hand helps bring a learning focus to the field trip. This Field Trip Booklet may also be used in your classroom as a follow-up activity after you have visited the zoo!
You may choose to use any or all of the 10 activity pages you would like when you reproduce your booklet for your own class and put them in any order you would see fit. The following types of printable activities are included in the booklet:
Listing animals that begin with each letter of the alphabet.
Finding animals that have stripes, spots and other nuances.
Writing the names of animals in a variety of categories.
Finding animals from each of the 7 continents, thus encouraging them to read the signs posted by each animal visited.
Observing one animal of choice, sketching it, writing an observation, and noting habitat aspects.
Searching for herbivores, omnivores and carnivores.

Since laughter is the best medicine, I’ll leave you with a zoo joke prescription!!
An unemployed man got a new job at the zoo. They offered him to dress up in a gorilla suit and pretend to be a funny gorilla so people will keep coming to the zoo.
On his first day on the job, the man puts on the suit and goes into the cage. The people all cheer to see him. He starts really putting on a show, jumping around, beating his chest and roaring. During one acrobatic attempt, he loses his balance and crashes through some safety netting and lands right in the middle of the lion cage! As he lies there stunned, the lion roars. He's terrified and starts screaming, "Help, Help!"
The lion races over to him, places his paws on his chest and hisses, "Shut up or we'll both lose our jobs!"
