This interaction short story is great for using with learners with autism or other communication disabilities. It allows students to follow along with the story, but stay engaged as they have to place the zookeeper in the correct place on the page.
These stories are great to use with students 1:1 on or in small groups taking turns to place the pictures on.
My students ages 3-5 with varying needs LOVE these books!
Pages 1-8 should be cut in half where the page indicates you to cut. Leave page 9 as a whole sheet, to use as the back of the book. This is where you will velcro the zookeepers while you are not reading.
I laminate all the pages and cut them out, then place them in order and hole punch. Use binder rings to hold your book together, or book binding, your choice!
For the page with the elephant, it indicates you to place the zookeeper behind the elephant. In order to do this, cut around the elephant keeping the bottom connected. Tape a white piece of paper behind this page of the book, covering the hole you cut out. This way when you pull the elephant forward you are able to put the zookeeper behind.
