This zoo scavenger hunt activity is highly versatile and so much fun! I've included 24 beautiful pictures of real zoo animals! Print as many boards and pictures as you want! When we used this, I only gave the kids the animals I knew were at our zoo. I also had them write down facts on the game boards when they found an animal. It was highly engaging and so much fun!
1. Print, laminate, and attach velcro dots. Make into a file folder scavenger hunt game! This can be done at the zoo or in the classroom. Try hiding pictures or figurines of zoo animals around the room!
2. The zoo pictures can be used as flash cards to learn the names of animals. Write some fun facts on the back for added fun!
3. Turn the activity into a gross motor game by having a child draw an animal out of a hat and act out the animal. Hop like a kangaroo! Hiss like a snake! So many opportunities for learning here.
4. Grab some plastic zoo animals from the dollar store and go on a zoo animal hunt right in the classroom!
