This packet is also included in my "Let's Write" bundle!
It includes a basic writing stimulus poster (page sized) and additional alternative pages and worksheets.
The main idea with this resource, is that you let your students look at the picture scene on the card, and think and talk about the ideas and vocabulary with the topic of 'the zoo'.
They can talk about their own personal experiences as well as the pictures. This is best done in a small group, however you could project the file on the board and do this as a class.
This will give students that struggle with ideas and vocabulary, a scaffold to start writing!
The students, with your help, then make a list of words from the ideas on the stimulus card. You can also add to the list - sight words and additional helpful words (verbs, conjunctions etc).
Your students then use the pictures and the word list to write a passage or a few sentences (whatever writing level they are up to) in their writing books.
The aim is to motivate, encourage and prompt your students' own writing.
The alternative cards include a version with words, a list version, and 3 different worksheet styles (provided should you prefer students to have their own copy of the pictures/words).
Students LOVE to talk about pictures - let these motivating scenes boost your students' writing!
