Product Description
This activity would be a good extension for Luis Valdez's play *Zoot Suit* or as part of a National Hispanic Heritage Month unit.

Begin by showing students the PowerPoint displaying various examples of Mexican-American murals. Each depict the three key components of a mural:
= Religious Elements:Ancient and/or Christian
= Political Statement or Cause
= Pride in Cultural Heritage

Extend the activity by having students paint murals on butcher paper. Their murals must contain the three key components of Latino murals.

The compressed file contains the PowerPoint presentation, speaker notes, and directions on how to paint a mural.
