These abc circle maps can be used to introduce beginning sounds or to practice beginning sounds during guided reading groups. Have your students draw items that start with each letter or use the images provided. Another idea is to enlarge the maps on 11X17 paper to use during group time. You can also use the enlarged maps for groups of students to work on together. There is a mystery map included so that you can draw or place the pictures on the map and have your students guess the letter.
Use this activity to have your Kindergarten students practice beginning sounds.
This beginning sounds activity is perfect for Kindergarten whole group or Kindergarten guided reading groups.

RF.K.1d Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
RF.K.3a Demonstrate basic knowledge of one to one letter sounds correspondences by producing the primary sound for each consonant.
RF.K. 3b Associate the short and long vowel sounds for the five major vowels.
