This is a simple lab that can be used for an introduction to acids and bases. The materials are mostly common household items, besides for some chemicals, such as KOH, NaOH, and HCl. Litmus and pH paper are also used in this lab. Students will predict the pH of each substance, test it using 3 methods, and then write a conclusion. If time permits, other methods of testing could be added to this lab, such as using other chemical indicators or cabbage juice.
**The thumbnails where horrible- so I didn't include one. This lab is two pages (landscape style). It has purpose, materials, procedure, questions, and a chart to record the information. The prep for this lab is obvious.
