Young readers can learn to read and write by practicing words that rhyme with hat. The worksheet is a .pdf file of a hat with the -at word family on the hat. Children use letter sounds they know to create new words that rhyme. When finished you can display the hats as they are or glue to a piece of tag board or construction paper and fit to their head to show off their new hats. The hat has a flower for early finishers to color. My students have enjoyed hats similar to this one. They loved wearing their fancy hats to lunch and I loved that they were engaged reading and writing!
