Note: Revised edition as of 2/18/15 includes a graph to monitor progress and an additional activity.
Are your students confused between the consonants b and d? You can try posters and gimmicks, but the best solution is visual practice and repetition.
Through these three B and D activities, you can increase your students' awareness and ability to discriminate between these two letters in a just one week!
Have your students sort through the pictures, placing the picture on the consonant card under the correct title Bb or Dd. Or have them do a visual sort of the letters. Having to identify the letters individually will begin automatic recognition and make reading Bb ad Dd easier!
To make it more challenging, try timing your students individually to see how fast they can sort through the pictures or letters or both! My students initially took a minute to sort through just the letters...now they can identify the correct letter within 24 seconds.
Included: Instructions for 3 activities, Bb and Dd initial sound pictures, Bb and Dd lower case letter cards, a Bd and Dd Letter Mat, and student graph and instructions to monitor progress.
