This packet is designed to reinforce the consonant blends ch and sh patterns. These are very common phonograms that students will need to be able to decode when reading and writing.
Day 1: After you study the vowel pattern, students will cut words and sort them based on the rule. Headings are included but you can not include them as a challenge.
Day 2: Students will read the words that contain the ch or sh blend to find the words that sound the same.
Day 3: Students will make words by filling in the correct vowel pattern. Then they will use those words to find rhyming words and fix misspelled words in the sentence.
Day 4: They will find words in the story.
Day 5: Make sentences using words.
On day 5, I usually give the quiz after students have completed the last page. I also have students sort words on day 1, 2 and 3. On day 4, I have them glue the words on the sorting mat.
