There are 2-4 questions for each chapter in "A Corner of the Universe" by Ann M. Martin. Different types of questions are used. Some answers are directly in the text. Others require students to combine what they read with their own background knowledge. Still others require readers to make connections to their own lives and express how they feel about what they are reading. There is possibly enough space for students to write answers on the print out. I had my students cut off the questions for the chapter(s) they were to read and glue them to the top of their reading notebook page, then write the answers in complete sentences using as much space as they needed on the notebook page. The questions could be copied from a board or numbered to be answered accordingly. These chapter questions could be used to guide a whole class, small reading group, or individual student.
