I have included a suggested reading schedule where chapters are grouped so that students are reading approximately the same number of pages each day. Questions are included for each chapter. Different types of questions are used. Some answers are directly in the text. Others require students to combine what they read with their own background knowledge. Still others require readers to make connections to their own lives and express how they feel about what they are reading. There is possibly enough space for students to write answers on the print out. I had my students write the answers in complete sentences in their notebooks. The questions could be copied from a board or numbered to be answered accordingly. These chapter questions could be used to guide a whole class, small reading group, or individual student. Also, for each chapter I have listed vocabulary words and literary devices for students to identify.
