Great Graphing Galore! Use these pages to supplement your math curriculum and make graphing fun for your class. Included in this packet: three templates for graphs - bar graph, pictograph, and line plot and a page for students to use to interpret the data and read the graph. Students can brainstorm different topics they can poll their classmates about. For example they can think of three ice cream flavors or three types of cookies, walk around and poll their classmates and make tallies to record the data. Once they have asked everyone, they can go to their desk and make the graph. Also included is a page for them to look at the data. The interpretting the data page can be used with all three graphing pages. If your state testing is like mine, you will love the practice on the pictograph of one picture equalling 2 kids. They are sure to see things like that on tests! My class went crazy making graphs using these pages and begged to make more and more as they finished. I also found it helpful to give them a class list with all of the names of the students in our class. I'm sure your class will be able to brainstorm TONS of graphing ideas that they can use. That is the best part- they are open ended which I feel engages the learner and makes it fun!
