This exercise requires students to reconstruct a family tree using clues written from the perspective of nine members of a family. This is designed for independent work and utilizes vocabulary, possessive pronouns, être and avoir.
This activity pairs well with my other posted family activities:
--family_articles_worksheet.ppt introduces family vocabulary using contextualized definitions rather than a traditional "tante = aunt" structure.
--family matching full French.doc utilizes a word bank and contextualized definitions (and possessive pronouns), such as "Le père de ma femme est mon ____________________."
--Family reunion.doc is designed to get students up and moving: Each student is a member of one of several families, and students must ask one another questions in an effort to reunite their families and construct a family tree.
