Two Reading Specialists and a teaching assistant piloted 160+ iPad apps with individual students and groups in grades K-6. They compiled a list of 65+ that they felt were engaging & best for promoting literacy and pre-literacy skills, especially for preschool age children through 3rd grade.
This 9 page pdf file is organized by literacy skill (listed below). A description, recommended age range and cost is provided for each app. This is a fabulous resource for educators and parents alike! It will help you maximize the effectiveness of iPods and iPads in the classroom by saving you valuable time in locating appropriate apps for individual or center work.
