Poetry on the iPad: Create acrostic poems on the free iPad app Pic Collage.
Celebrate Poetry Month by easily integrating this low prep & creative iPad® mobile digital device app poetry activity into your reading or writing workshop, centers or whole group lessons. Students will use the included direction sheets to plan and create an acrostic poem about any topic using the free iPad app Pic Collage. Topic and word lists are included too to support all learners. This also makes a great beginning of year, holiday, or biography activity - have students create an acrostic poem of their name, holiday, name of a famous person and more.
Packet includes everything your students need to make a poem on the app independently:
★ 7 Visual step-by-step student direction pages for using the app.
★ 1 student planning page for sketching an idea and sensory details to assist students in selecting a topic.
★ 1 mini anchor that explains and shows Acrostic poetry for students to refer to.
★ 1 Pic Collage™ ready reference - a one page guide to using the app.
★ 1 Topic / Word List to generate ideas
★ 26 Half-sheet ABC word charts to help think of words that start with each letter.
★ Detailed teacher notes
You will need the free app Pic Collage™ or Pic Collage Kids. A Clickable QR code to download the app from the App Store® online store is included in this packet.
Since my products all utilize free web and app resources, there may be rare times that the technology does not work as planned, which may be out of my control. Please be sure to message me in the Q&A section so I can assist you before leaving feedback. I use all of the apps that I base my packets on frequently and will update products as the apps themselves update.
