I created these ipad/tablet task cards to help my students’ learning be more meaningful. I often find my students being tempted to click app after app and never stick with one thing. In a short amount of time, they have basically surfed the net or tablet apps instead of really learning something.
There are 2 sets of task cards that look very similar. The first set is to be used with a specific app I require each of my students to do as an assignment. Usually, Brain Pop where they have to watch the video and then respond on the task card. This video does not take much time and allows my students opportunity to do something else when they are finished.
The second set is to be used in conjunction with the first (either printed on the back or separately). Once my students finish the required app, then they may choose one until time is up for the rotation. These cards are slightly different culminating in an activity where my students must write a review to convince others to try the app.
Being able to read, respond, and provide evidence are key features in today’s Common core Standards
