PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

iReaders: -at Word Family

If you are looking for differentiated decodable readers for your small groups, but don't want to print, cut, and staple 20+ readers every week, then this product is perfect for you!

Each of my iReaders includes 3 differentiated decodable readers that focus on a particular phonics feature. They are SPECIFICALLY meant for iPad use. No printing, no cutting, truly ZERO prep!! Simply open the reader in Microsoft PowerPoint on your iPads and you are ready to go.

Each packet has 3 similar stories, but are tiered for your small groups: BELOW LEVEL, ON LEVEL, and ABOVE LEVEL. Each story has an introduction page, which introduces students to the phonics skill words and sight words that they will see in the story.
At the back of each story there are suggested comprehension questions, a writing activity suggestion, and an activity that will practice the phonics skill on which the book is focusing {word work}.

This packet focuses on -at word family words.

More iReaders are in the works, including all Short Vowels, all Word Families, ABC readers, and nonfiction iReaders that will focus on various science topics. ☺

Short E iReader Freebie

The freebie includes the entire short e ON LEVEL book, with the writing and word work activities so that you see how this series is formatted.

These activities are meant to be quick and effective so that you can meet with multiple small groups each day. These ARE NOT a substitute for leveled readers -- they are decodable readers meant to build confidence in your students, while practicing with different phonics features. It is still so important to use those leveled readers for your small groups in order to develop syntax and semantics, as part of a balanced literary diet. :)
