Looking for an engaging way to practice new vocabulary?
iSPY vocabulary posters connect the words to visual clues created by the kiddos!
In this powerpoint presentation you will find class expectations for the project, a hook (INTENSE movie trailer explaining what the kiddos will do), and management/behavior rules for the project. There are also fun sound bytes and transitions between slides that stick to the detective theme.
To sum it up, the student create life size iSPY posters with an answer key. They must hide visual clues to represent the vocabulary for that particular lessons.
This activity works wonders for my visual learners! It can be used for any subject and grade. I've seen it work successfully on both the elementary AND the middle school level.
The project typically takes about two classes to complete (about 1 hr and 15 minutes)
When it is finished you can use them for review days or hang them in high traffic areas for kids to play while silently waiting in line!
Engagement leads to easy management! Enjoy!
Note: The slide "Today's Plan" has a movie trailer that automatically plays
