The following worksheets and activities are included:
•Word Work: manipulative cards for children to use to create words with the long e sound.
•Sample word lists for both types of words
•ee words, ea words: Students add a beginning and ending sound to create new words then match some of the words to pictures.
•Word Doubles: students make words that sound alike but have different spellings (peak, peek) then match some of the words to pictures
•Word Ladders: Students use clues to change one letter to make a new word. Note: These worksheets may be difficult for students to complete independently. They can provide discussion for small group activities.
•Word Sorts and Missing Letters: Students sort words by long a pattern (ee, ea) and fill in missing letters to make new words
•Rhyme Time: Students think of long e words that rhyme with a given word. There are ee and ea words.
