The students will be given a refresher look at musical notes and how many beats each note is worth. They will do clapping exercises to show the value of notes in four beat measures. The students will then be asked to use the musical concept of rhythm to create their own clapping rhythms. The students will then be asked to right out their notes. Students will be working with the math concept of adding and subtracting fractions. They will be working with musical notes to add and subtract the fractions. Students will know how much each note is worth and use them to solve mathematical problems. The students will use their own original rhythm patterns they created to create math problems.
