Jigsaw: Begin by going over the definition of advertising techniques and what they are used for. Discuss how there are implied or hidden messages in each advertisement. Split the class up into groups of 4. For this activity, each student will be assigned 3 or 4 advertising techniques that they must research using their text books on their own. Encourage the students to notes so they can relay the information back to the rest of their groups. Once they are finished the students will be put back into groups and teach the rest of the members in their groups about the advertising techniques that they just researched. On a separate piece of piece of paper, have one member of the group give a brief description of each technique and their names, to be handed in for grading.
