This is NOT creative, but sometimes that is ok for me. This is ULTRA simple, let me tell you!
Length of activity? I have found that 15 minutes is good for this, but if your class is really into it, the activity could go 10 minutes.
First, there are 12 pages of numbers 1-1000, 6 sets per page. The setup is the numeral on one side and the French words on the other. Lots to copy, but worth it for me!
I wanted to create cards that facilitate social interaction, work, and simple understanding, getting away from the Q/A from me to the students.
I need EASY and EFFECTIVE too! Too many steps = disaster!
This is my ULTRA easy way to help with numbers as a review!
I also added a cover side if you want to double side the page. I drew it myself, with Painter 12 drawing program.
Students will have 36 pairs to work with.
A lot of pages to copy if you want 12 sets like I use.
I make 12 sets (I have 24 students) so students can work in pairs or more.
I have 3 pairs of numbers that are duplicates (students said that helps in the card game of "war" or "top it" as they call it now.
I tell students to form groups of 2 to 4.
1) They can play "top it" where students separate the deck into two piles after a major shuffle. Each student puts his/her card down, and the higher card wins.
2.) Students can go into groups of 3. 1 student holds the card up (written words of the numbers) and students raise hand to be chosen to tell the number in English
option: I purchased little buzzers. 1 per group. Students LOVE to press the buzzers! Loud but they get so into the translations!
3) Massive effort, but students can simply shuffle, and then put the cards in the correct pairs.
I bet there are even more ways to use the cards!
