This sheet is an informative handout for students which details Shakespearean Sonnets. It offers a brief history of Shakesperean Sonnets as well as information on how a Shakespearean sonnet is composed, and the parts (Iambic pentameter, quattrain, couplets, etc.) which make up a Shakespearean sonnet.
I developed this sheet for my ninth-grade Honors English class as we were progressing through our Shakespeare unit, but snow days cut down on our time to cover details of a sonnet. The students were allowed to use this as a reference sheet when we studied other Shakespearean sonnets, and the Students were able to translate information from this sheet to the other sonnet studies we did in class.
I would consider this a quick, comprehensive "what-you-need-to-know" about Shakespearean sonnets reference sheet.
