of Plymouth Plantation Personal Narrative Creative Writing Activity
Product Description
A creative way to evaluate students' understanding of
Bradford's of Plymouth Plantation.

This activity provides students with an excerpt about Plymouth Colony and the first Thanksgiving taken from history.com.

Students are required to compose a personal narrative about one of the following topics:
--the voyage,
--the arrival in Massachusetts ,
--the period of famine and disease, or a
--meeting with the Indians.

Included in their composition must be the elements of a personal narrative that we noted during discussion of William Bradford's work.

Students must include
--personal pronouns,
--parenthetical comments,
--observations about emotions,
--evidence of the belief in God's providence, and
--evidence of the pilgrims' belief in hard work.

I use this activity after studying of Plymouth Plantation; however, it would be an effective evaluation in a history class.

I have included a checklist/rubric.

Clear font.

Two graphics.

Thank you for your consideration.
