This file contains a baseline pH table that can be printed for students as they determine the colors that pH indicators (solution or pH paper) show along the spectrum. (This might be best done as a demonstration as some of the materials are dangerous.)
Color crayons or colored pencils
Once students tested each of these substances for color changes, they use crayons to color in the provided char using crayons or pencils. Then this baseline chart can be used to further test, and estimate other substance's pH.
I print the table on cardstock, and laminate it after students have colored the cooresponding pH color shade. That way, this table can be used as a "pH reference card" on the field as we test substances on a hike!
This table is meant to be used with a lab I've previously posted. Please check my TPT store for FREE pH labs.
I've also posted pictures and thorough descriptions of how to implement pH labs with elementary aged students; as well as tutorials on how to make pH indicator solution and DIY pH paper.
Would love to know how you use the lab and how it works for you and your students.
