What educators are saying

A quick and easily modifiable lab to review pH. I liked how it includes both the litmus paper and pH paper to help them learn about different tools and producing different types of results.

Description

In this lab students will test the pH of different liquids using litmus paper and pH paper. Using the pH paper they will rank the liquids from strongest acid to strongest base. The liquids I used for this lab were: ammonia, apple juice, vinegar, water, bleach, and coke. This worksheet is editable so you can change them to any other liquids you have on hand.

Materials needed for lab: litmus paper (both red and blue), pH paper, liquids of your choice, and cups or test tubes.
