weekly themes include:
-all about fall
Reading books to go along with fall. Questioning student during and after reading about the beginning, middle and end of the story.
Take news from 3 children each day so that every student is sharing each week
Create a paper scarecrow. Students will choose the color of their clothes using markers and crayons but should piece the scarecrow together to look like the sample.
HWT the letter L, read story about the lion, practice writing upper and lower case Ls
Begin working on “My Leaf” book
Take dictation from 3 students about the fall picture
How many leaves? Students will graph the number of red leaves, yellow leaves, brown leaves and orange leaves they see in the picture. We will build color trains using our interlocking cubes to show a 3D graph of our results.
Dramatic Play New dress up clothes, bride, Hispanic, Asian, career dad, and maid. How would you interact with these characters in the store? What conversations might they have with each other? What types of foods would they be looking for?
Sensory Is it a letter or a number? Have students fish for numbers and letters and place
Create our own fall objects out of play dough and cookie cutters.
Art Easel Fall colors out to make leaves and trees
Each student will paint one paper plate yellow for our math lion activity on Thursday and Friday
Blocks Build homes and shelters for our pets and farm/wild animals
Visit the blocks center and ask questions about the structures being built
