Included in this packet are 128 strategically chosen r-Controlled word cards and a word work notebook. This packet focuses on teaching the word work in Step 3 of teaching reading. Step 3 is teaching reading sounds 11-15 of reading which are the 5 sounds of r-Controlled vowels: /ar/, /air/, /ear/, /ir/, and /or/.
Two different things can be done with the word cards.
1. The word cards can be cut apart as individual cards and sorted according to the 5 r-Controlled sounds. Instructions are included on how to do this. Then they can be used for various word skill activities of your choosing or for playing cards with simple game boards that you may have yourself.
