The /r/ Phoneme Carrier Phrase Flip Book [For Drill Practice] provides hundreds of word and sentence combinations, and enables the speech and language pathologist the ability to concentrate on the /r/ phoneme production in a variety of highly-structured contexts. My students love this-- they experience some autonomy by selecting which pictures to practice their /r/ phoneme. They really do not realize they are engaged in drill practice! I recommend that once downloaded, laminate each of the 16 pages (this includes the cover page—not the instruction page). Afterwards, bind the pages into a booklet, then cut along the vertical lines to create your flip book. You might want to make the pages shorter prior to lamination (for this purpose, a fine horizontal line has been drawn 2/3 down each page. * After lamination, another option is to cut along the vertical lines and use as three sets of cards to create your carrier phrases.
Phonemes selected were based on those assessed during administration of the Arizona Articulation Proficiency Scale- Third Revision ( Fudala ,2000). Verb forms enable the SLP the option of using present, present progressive and past tense on most verb options.
