Product Description
I use this game in small groups and centers in my first grade classroom. I have a "popcorn" game that I bought from a teachers' store that I had been using in my classroom and I love it. The problem is that many of the sight words that come with the game are a bit advanced for many of my first graders this time in the year. I decided to make my own "popcorn" that goes along with all the spelling and high frequency words for each unit with the new Scott Foresman Reading Street that my school district adopted beginning fall of 2013. This way I can differentiate the difficulty of the game and get extra practice with the spelling and high frequency words!

I just print the popcorn on card stock and laminate. Then replace the popcorn that came with the game. (I will use the ones that came with the game later in the year.)

If you don't have the "Popcorn" game I will give you a run down of how to play.

*Place the popcorn box (or whatever container you choose to use) in the middle of the table
*Take a popcorn card out of your container and read it.
*If you read the word correctly you may keep the card. If you read the word incorrectly, place the card in a separate pile of "un-popped" words to be read later.
*If you draw a "POP!" card, return all your cards to the box and remove the "POP!" card from play.
*Take turns playing until the container of popcorn cards is empty.
*You can end the game here or put the "un-popped" card in the container and finish them as well.
*The player with the most popcorn cards at the end wins!
