You can choose to play with just regular past tense verbs (-ed endings), just irregular past tense or a mix of both.
You can play just once or play a series of games over time and keep track of how many crowns students earn. This is also a great way to pre-assess what your students already know, or use as a formative or summative assessment after instruction. You could also play the game orally for speaking practice instead of writing the words on the capture sheet. Something about a little friendly competition seems to motivate my students to work harder :). I hope your students enjoy!
