Inflectional Ending Sort makes a good center activity. Students are able to use these word cards for repetitive practice.
This game is a very simple sorting activity in which students take turns reading the word cards and identifying the “-s, -es, -ing, or –ed” inflectional ending. Then they decide on which cup it should be sorted into.
As an extension students can use the blank cards to draw pictures or write other “-s, -es, -ing, or –ed” words and then add them to the game. Students can also be encouraged to use books to go on a word hunt looking for these ending in other words.
This set includes 4 labels, 4 pages of word cards (40 cards), and 1 blank card page.
